The SOLAR TRAFFIC LIGHT SYSTEM is designed to improve pedestrian safety by controlling vehicle traffic approaching the pedestrian crossing and advising pedestrian when it is safe or unsafe to cross.

The Solar Pedestrian crossing/traffic light system is a similar in operation to a standard pedestrian crossing/traffic light system without the complicated wiring between systems or the requirement to trench to run power to each unit.

The entire system is powered by a high quality solar powerbank mounted atop the same post as the pedestrian sign and activation button/PIR. The two mounting posts, push buttons/PIR, solar powerbanks, pedestrian crossing signs and optional road studs are independent standalone systems. The connection between all components, including the optional solar flush mounted road studs is wireless.

Push button or touchless PIR (Passive Infrared) activation on either side of the crossing begins the system programmed operation. After activation the traffic light change from green to amber to red. The pedestrian symbol changes from a red, standing to a green and walking symbol advising the pedestrian to cross. The timing between all process steps is programable to allow customisation to your site.
